Warner Music Group (WMG), Universal Music Group (UMG), and Sony Music Entertainment (SME) have entered into licensing agreements with Klay Vision Inc., a pioneering AI music technology firm. This landmark collaboration positions Klay as the first AI music startup to forge partnerships with these industry giants and their respective publishing entities.

Klay Vision leverages its proprietary Large Music Model to redefine how we experience music, focusing on licensed content to enhance listening rather than replace it. Far from being a simple meme generator, Klay is described as a subscription-based service aimed at uplifting artists and revering their craft. Future plans include partnering with independent labels, artists, publishers, and songwriters.

WMG's Executive Vice President, Carletta Higginson, praised the thoughtful approach Klay Vision has taken in evolving AI technology while preserving music's intrinsic value. Similarly, UMG's Executive Vice President, Michael Nash, echoed these sentiments, recognizing Klay's commitment to respecting copyright while expanding creative possibilities.

Klay's Founder and CEO, Ary Attie, emphasized the company's dedication to earning the trust of artists and songwriters, underscoring Klay's mission to expand ways for people to enjoy music while creating new value for creators. "Music is human at its core," Attie notes, "and its future must reflect that humanity."

The announcement follows recent news of UMG and AI developer Udio resolving a high-profile copyright lawsuit, indicating a broader industry trend towards collaboration over conflict in the AI space.
