2026 Oscar Nominations: Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' Leads the Pack With 16 Nods
The nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards are in, with Ryan Coogler's Sinners dominating with a record-breaking 16 nominations. Here's a breakdown of the key contenders and categories.

The nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards have officially been announced by actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, setting the stage for what promises to be a compelling ceremony.
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has emerged as a frontrunner, securing an impressive 16 nominations, including Best Picture. The film will be competing against other notable contenders such as Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Bugonia, Sentimental Value, and Hamnet.
While Sinners leads the charge, other films have also garnered significant recognition. However, some notable omissions include Daniel Lopatin’s score for Marty Supreme and Wicked: For Good, which received no nominations despite having tracks shortlisted for Best Original Song.
The awards ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, is scheduled for March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Last year's ceremony saw Sean Baker’s film Anora take home five awards, including Best Picture, while Daniel Blumberg won Best Original Score for The Brutalist. The Best Original Song was awarded to “El Mal” from Emilia Perez.
