BLACKPINK's members, JENNIE, JISOO, LISA, and ROSÉ, graced the Met Gala red carpet, each showcasing unique interpretations of the 'Costume Art' theme. Here's a breakdown of their stunning ensembles.
The BLACKPINK members, JENNIE, JISOO, LISA, and ROSÉ, made a striking appearance at the Met Gala on Monday (May 4), each member walking the red carpet individually and expressing their distinct fashion sensibilities.
JISOO, making her Met Gala debut, donned a sparkly pink floral gown. She shared with Vogue red carpet co-hosts Ashley Graham and Cara Delevingne that it was a custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson. "It’s my first Met Gala. I’m so excited and a little nervous too," JISOO said. "We’re trying the flowers. It’s so exciting."
She complemented the Dior gown with a vintage Cartier necklace. JISOO mentioned the outfit took "four to five hours" to assemble.

ROSÉ discussed her Yves Saint Laurent dress, featuring an avian theme, with Vogue red carpet co-host La La Anthony. ROSÉ explained that she collaborated with celebrity stylist Law Roach, noting that "the bird stood out because of the theme of the Met Gala this year," referencing the “Fashion Is Art” dress code for the “Costume Art” exhibit. "It helped [to] do my homework and learn the history of Yves Saint Laurent. It was a privilege to learn the inspiration YSL had with art," she said, citing Georges Braque’s painting The Birds in the Louvre as the inspiration.

LISA arrived in a sculptural design by Robert Wun. "I’m just so happy to showcase myself in an art form like this," LISA stated, elaborating that the arms encircling her veiled gown were 3D-printed recreations of her own. She also hinted at her upcoming Las Vegas residency, saying, "It sold out! I can’t wait to show my fans what I prepared."

JENNIE, the final BLACKPINK member to grace the carpet, wore a shimmery silver Chanel dress by Matthieu Blazy. JENNIE mentioned to Vogue's Anthony that her dress comprised 15,000 sequined leaves. "I feel like a mosaic art work come alive," she said, also expressing her excitement to reunite with her BLACKPINK bandmates inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
