Bruce Springsteen Debuts Anti-ICE Anthem 'Streets Of Minneapolis' at Tom Morello Benefit

During a benefit concert organized by Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance to debut his powerful anti-ICE protest song, 'Streets Of Minneapolis'. The benefit, held at the iconic First Avenue club, aimed to support the families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both US citizens who were fatally shot by ICE agents in separate incidents in Minneapolis.

Good, 37, was killed on January 7, while Pretti, also 37, was killed on January 24. The incidents sparked outrage and protests across the US.

Springsteen, before performing the song, shared that he initially hesitated to send it to Morello, fearing it might be too overt. However, Morello encouraged him, emphasizing the need for direct action. The performance ignited the crowd, who chanted "ICE Out now!"

Later in the evening, Morello joined Springsteen for a performance of 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'.

The Trump Administration has criticized Springsteen for the song, dismissing it as “irrelevant”. A White House spokesperson condemned the song, claiming the administration is focused on removing “dangerous criminal illegal aliens”.

Springsteen has been vocal about the issue, previously calling for ICE to “get the fuck out of Minneapolis”.

Morello has been a long-time critic of the US President. He also shared a “Fuck ICE” playlist and attended anti-ICE protests.

Other artists, including Billie Eilish, Finneas, Sabrina Carpenter, Green Day, Neil Young, Moby, Zara Larsson, Joe Keery, Yuri Lowenthal, Duran Duran, and Dave Matthews, have also spoken out against ICE's actions.

Tom Morello is scheduled to perform a headline show in London this summer and will appear at Download Festival 2026.
