BTS Electrifies Las Vegas and the AMAs with 'Hooligan' Performance
South Korean sensation BTS dominated Las Vegas with a four-night stint at Allegiant Stadium, punctuated by a show-stopping performance at the American Music Awards.
BTS delivered a powerful performance of Arirang track “Hooligan” for the 2026 American Music Awards. The performance appeared to be filmed at their Arirang World Tour at Allegiant Stadium before the awards ceremony. The septet commanded the stage bathed in red light, clad in sleek black outfits, and backed by masked dancers. The moody backdrop mirrored the track’s music video, captivating thousands of screaming fans.
The AMAs had announced BTS's appearance just five days prior to the show. The group's Las Vegas residency kicked off at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, May 23, with more shows scheduled for May 27 and 28.
BTS was also nominated for three awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Year, Best Male K-Pop Artist, and Song of the Summer for their single “Swim.”
Since their return from individual endeavors and mandatory military service, BTS has been incredibly active. They recently released their comeback album, Arirang, in March and have embarked on a global tour, including North American dates scheduled to begin in August.
In a recent Rolling Stone cover story, BTS's RM emphasized the group's commitment to pushing creative boundaries: “I’ve been saying to the members, ‘If we don’t challenge anymore, then I think there’s no reason that we should keep doing this as a team,’” he said. “We have to show the world that we are still ongoing and still exploring. It’s so complicated sometimes. But still, I think we have to push it to the edge even more, even more, and it’s still not enough.”
