BTS's 'ARIRANG' Breaks K-Pop Records with Third Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200
BTS's new album 'ARIRANG' continues K-pop's dominance on the Billboard 200 chart, marking a historic milestone with its third consecutive week at No. 1.

BTS is once again making history! Their latest album, ARIRANG, has cemented its place at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for a third consecutive week, as of April 18, 2026. This achievement marks a significant milestone, making ARIRANG the first K-pop album or EP to hold the No. 1 position for three weeks.
This accomplishment underscores the continued global influence of K-pop, with 23 albums or EPs by K-pop acts reaching No. 1 on Billboard's flagship albums chart in under eight years. The wave began with BTS's Love Yourself: Tear in June 2018.
While ARIRANG sets a new record for consecutive weeks at No. 1, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack previously held the top spot for two weeks.
When it comes to the total number of No. 1 albums, Stray Kids leads the pack with eight titles on the Billboard 200. BTS follows closely behind with seven No. 1 albums. Other K-pop groups that have reached the summit include ATEEZ with two No. 1s, as well as SuperM, BLACKPINK, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, NewJeans, and TWICE, each with one No. 1 album to date.
BLACKPINK holds the distinction of being the first female K-pop act to achieve a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Born Pink in 2022.
K-pop's success is often attributed to the strength and dedication of their large ensembles. TWICE boasts nine members, while Stray Kids and ATEEZ each have eight. BTS and SuperM feature seven members, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER and NewJeans consist of five. BLACKPINK, known for their powerful impact, comprises four members. To date, no K-pop solo artists, duos, or trios have topped the Billboard 200.
Since 2018, K-pop acts have consistently delivered chart-topping albums every year, with the exception of 2021. The year 2023 stands out as a peak, with five K-pop albums reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
