Pop innovator Charli XCX is gearing up for a dynamic fall tour, hitting the road in support of her eagerly awaited album, Music, Fashion, Film. Fans can anticipate a thrilling live experience, with singer-songwriter underscores joining as a special guest for stops in major cities including Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Austin, and Los Angeles.
Presale tickets for the tour went live on Friday, June 12, at 9 a.m. local time, with general sale tickets becoming available later that day at 1 p.m. Expressing her excitement, Charli shared, “Can’t wait to party together again, it’s gonna be cute,” a message punctuated with her characteristic playful charm.
Following her moodier foray into film scores with the dramatic Wuthering Heights soundtrack in February, Charli XCX has kept details of her seventh studio album under wraps. Music, Fashion, Film is slated for release on July 24, hinting at a new chapter in her ever-evolving artistic journey.
Early glimpses into the album's sound, through singles like “Rock Music” and “SS26,” suggest a more rugged, rock-infused aesthetic. However, Charli remains elusive about fully categorizing the project. On Instagram, she mused, “I’m not gonna explain where I was coming from with ‘Rock Music.’ But all i know is that things can be funny, earnest, sincere, and joyful all at the same time and that’s what i feel about a lot of the things i make.”
This embrace of diverse influences follows the whirlwind success of Brat in 2024, an album that solidified her status as a pop vanguard. Charli has been vocal about her desire to defy genre constraints. As she articulated to Vogue in April, “If I’d made another album that felt more dance-leaning, it would have felt really hard, really sad, but what’s interesting for me is to bend the possibilities of what my perspective on that could be.”
