Summer festival season is officially upon us, kicking off with Coachella at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival's 2026 edition promises a star-studded lineup and enhanced livestreaming capabilities.
This year's headliners include Sabrina Carpenter (Friday), Justin Bieber (Saturday), and Karol G (Sunday). Carpenter has teased an ambitious show, stating it will be "the most ambitious show I've ever done."
Bieber, following a surprise warmup show featuring tracks from Swag and Swag II, has reportedly been soundchecking older hits, fueling speculation and a surge in ticket demand. Karol G marks a milestone as Coachella's first Latina headliner, with anticipation building around her potential commentary on pressing social issues.
The 2026 lineup also boasts an eclectic mix of artists including the Strokes, Jack White, the xx, Young Thug, Nine Inch Nails x Boys Noize (as Nine Inch Noize), Anyma, Wednesday, Geese, Addison Rae, Turnstile, David Byrne, Iggy Pop, Ethel Cain, Dijon, Clipse, Alex G, FKA twigs, Wet Leg, Interpol, Disclosure, Major Lazer, Laufey, KATSEYE, Devo, PinkPantheress, Blood Orange, Sexyy Red, Little Simz, Central Cee, Moby, Lykke Li, the Rapture, Oklou, Joyce Manor, Suicidal Tendencies, Model/Actriz, Jane Remover, Drain, Ceremony, Blondshell, and Samia. Unfortunately, Lambrini Girls had to withdraw due to singer Phoebe Lunny's health concerns.

For those not attending in person, livestreaming might be the way to go. Reports of Airbnb cancellations and exorbitant re-listings have surfaced, with some rentals being offered at significantly inflated prices. One particularly egregious example involved a laundry room being rented out for over $1,300.
Coachella is enhancing the livestream experience this year. YouTube will broadcast the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, and Sahara in 4K. The multiview function allows viewers to stream up to four stages simultaneously on their TVs. A virtual store will also offer exclusive merchandise from artists like BINI, Ethel Cain, Foster The People, KATSEYE, Laufey, the xx, Turnstile, and Young Thug.
