Cody Johnson and Boyz II Men Deliver Unexpectedly Epic Performance at Stagecoach 2026
Country star Cody Johnson invited Boyz II Men to the Stagecoach stage for a surprise performance of their hit 'On Bended Knee'.

Cody Johnson delivered a memorable opening night headlining set at Stagecoach on April 24, 2026, thanks to a surprise collaboration.
The country star welcomed Boyz II Men to the stage, creating an unexpected fusion of genres. Together, they performed the legendary R&B group's 1994 hit, "On Bended Knee."
Johnson initiated the performance with a cover of the classic love song, before Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men joined him. Festival attendees in Indio, California, swayed along, captivated by the nostalgic performance.
"On Bended Knee," originally from Boyz II Men's sophomore album, II, dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks in 1994, solidifying its place in music history.
This isn't the first time Boyz II Men have crossed genre lines. In March, they surprised audiences at the Listening Room’s 20th anniversary at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, joining Brett Young for a performance of his song “In Case You Didn’t Know.”
Johnson’s Stagecoach performance follows the announcement of his upcoming album, Banks of the Trinity, scheduled for release on June 26 via COJO Music/Warner Records Nashville.
The project follows Johnson’s 2023 album, Leather, which featured hits like “Dirt Cheap” and “The Fall” and earned the title of album of the year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
Friday at Stagecoach also featured a surprise appearance by comedian Theo Von, who joined rising star Ella Langley for a duet of her Riley Green collaboration, “You Look Like You Love Me.”
Stagecoach 2026 continued with Lainey Wilson headlining on Saturday (April 25), and Post Malone closing out the festival on Sunday.
