D4vd Arrested: Alt-Pop Singer Faces Murder Charges in Celeste Rivas Hernandez Case

David Burke, the 21-year-old alt-pop singer known as D4vd, has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Hernandez was reported missing last spring. Her body was discovered on September 8 in an abandoned Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle had been parked in the Hollywood Hills for over a month. Following the discovery, fans circulated photos and videos purportedly showing D4vd and Hernandez together. Reports suggest they had matching tattoos, and Hernandez’s mother informed police that her daughter had a boyfriend named David.

As details of the case unfolded, D4vd continued performing shows in support of his debut album. Following a police search of his residence in September, his live events were canceled, and Interscope suspended plans for a deluxe edition of his album. R&B artist Kali Uchis, who featured on D4vd’s single “Crashing,” had the collaboration removed from streaming platforms.

D4vd is currently being held without bail. The case is scheduled to be presented to the LA County District Attorney’s office on Monday.
