Disturbed's David Draiman Extends Olive Branch to Jack White Amidst Political Clash

Controversy is brewing as David Draiman of Disturbed addresses Jack White's critique of former President Donald Trump's approach to Iran, extending an “open invitation” to discuss the complex situation.

The disagreement stems from the US joining Israel in launching aerial attacks across Iran, a move that Trump dubbed ‘Operation Epic Fury.’ The former White Stripes frontman, a vocal critic of Trump, took to social media to condemn the military offensive.

“Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference right? Don jr. and barron won’t have to fight or die, just other people’s children, so…invade and bomb away,” White wrote, sparking a response from Draiman.

In an Instagram post, Draiman asserted that the campaign to “#FreeIran” should not be opposed, emphasizing that “The Iranian people deserve their freedom.”

He addressed White directly, saying, “I say this with the UTMOST respect. I think you’re an absolutely brilliant artist,” and offered to talk privately or publicly. As of now, White has not responded.

Draiman, who identifies as a “fiercely pro Israel Jew,” has previously stated that he is unconcerned about alienating people with his pro-Israel stance. This has led to clashes with other musicians, including Kneecap, who labeled him a "straight up c**t" after Draiman criticized Tom Morello's support for the group.

At Black Sabbath's farewell show in Birmingham, Draiman faced audible boos from the crowd. He addressed the reaction, stating that he wouldn’t let a few “Jew hating morons” deter him from paying homage to his idols.

Following Disturbed's 25th-anniversary tour, the band announced a hiatus. While some speculated it was due to the controversy surrounding Draiman's political views, he clarified that the band members were simply “tired.”

White has been a consistent critic of the Trump administration, even calling for his removal from office after a racist meme was shared on social media.
