Drake Responds: 'Iceman' Album and the Targets of His Lyrical Comebacks
Drake unleashes three new albums, with 'Iceman' leading the charge, addressing rivals and personal struggles in a bar-heavy display.

The 6 God has returned, and he's not holding back. After weathering criticism and seeing perceived slights from peers, particularly in the wake of his feud with Kendrick Lamar, Drake dropped not one, but three new albums on Friday, May 15th.
As Drake himself put it on "Make Them Cry," the opening track of Iceman: "I’m in the cut just loading rebuttals.” Shouldering the weight of Toronto, the OVO boss uses Iceman to address everything and everyone on his mind.
Drake premiered Iceman during his episode four livestream on Thursday night (May 14), revealing that Maid of Honour and Habibti would also drop.
Iceman takes center stage as a lyrical showcase, with Drake dissecting life's complexities. Maid of Honour and Habibti explore R&B and dance elements, aimed towards a broader audience.
Drake sounds revitalized. The stakes are high, and he delivers with his ninth studio LP. A renewed urgency permeates his work, likely fueled by the Kendrick Lamar clash and a shift in public perception after years of dominance.
"What died back in 2024 was a big piece/ So it’s like this s— is me, but it isn’t me/ Y’all keep on asking what it did to me/ That’s what it did to me,” he confesses on “Make Them Cry,” acknowledging the impact of recent events.
Drake balances vulnerability with aggression. He touches on his father’s cancer battle, his lawsuit against UMG, and reunites with Future on “Ran to Atlanta.”
