Erykah Badu to Headline Roots Picnic 2026, Joining Jay-Z in Philadelphia
Erykah Badu has been announced as a headliner for the Roots Picnic 2026 in Philadelphia, adding to the excitement of a lineup that already includes Jay-Z and a host of other major artists.

Erykah Badu is officially set to headline the Roots Picnic 2026 in Philadelphia, bringing her iconic R&B voice to the festival's main stage.
The announcement, made on Friday, March 20, confirms that Badu will perform on May 31, the festival's second and final day.
This news follows the earlier reveal that Jay-Z will headline the opening night on May 30, further fueling anticipation for the event.
This performance is significant as it marks Jay-Z's first live appearance since his cameo with Beyoncé during her Cowboy Carter Tour last year.
The festival boasts a diverse lineup, including Kehlani, Brandy, T.I., Mariah the Scientist, De La Soul, Corinne Bailey Rae, DESTIN CONRAD, KWN, Bilal, Sasha Keable, and many more.
Special events planned include a J. Period live mixtape set featuring Wale and Roots co-founder Black Thought, DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Magnificent Block Party, and a Jermaine Dupri & Friends showcase.
Attendees can also look forward to Adam Blackstone's tribute to the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, featuring Yolanda Adams, Ledisi, Tamar Braxton, and Andra Day. Additionally, there will be a celebration of Go-Go music's 50th anniversary, presented by Baller Alert and Front Porch, hosted by Noochie and Kenny Burns.
This year, the festival moves to Belmont Plateau, leaving its longtime home at the Mann Center. DJs like Funk Flex, DJ Diamond Kuts, DJ Cash Money, DJ Doc B, and DJ Miss Milan will keep the energy up between sets throughout the weekend.
