Foo Fighters Unleash 'Your Favorite Toy' and Announce New Album
Foo Fighters have announced their new album 'Your Favorite Toy' and shared the unapologetic title track, signaling a creative new chapter for the band.

The Foo Fighters are back with a bang! They've just announced their new album, ‘Your Favorite Toy,’ and dropped the title track, giving fans a taste of what's to come. Check it out below:
The album announcement follows hints from Dave Grohl and the band about a follow-up to 2023’s ‘But Here We Are.’ They've been teasing fans with snippets online, building anticipation for this release.
Earlier this month, the band updated their website with interactive snippets of new material, confirming today (Thursday, February 19) that the new record will indeed be titled ‘Your Favorite Toy.’
Set to drop on April 24 via Roswell Records/Columbia Records, this marks the 12th studio album from the American rock giants.
According to the Foos, the title track embodies the album's overall feel, representing a fresh and energetic direction for them.
Grohl explains, "‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new."
The song is packed with bold guitar riffs, keyboard melodies, and a catchy chorus. "Get back/ Hear that, boy?/ Someone threw away your favorite toy for good/ For good," Grohl declares.
The album was recorded at home, co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, engineered by Oliver Roman, and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent.
This album also marks the first with Ilan Rubin, who recently joined as drummer, taking over from Josh Freese. Rubin left Nine Inch Nails to join the Foos, while Freese returned to NIN.
You can visit here to pre-order the album, and check out the full tracklist below, which includes previously shared single ‘Asking For A Friend’.

The new album is the follow-up to ‘But Here We Are‘, which paid tribute to their late drummer, Taylor Hawkins, who passed away in March 2022.
Since then, the band released ‘Today’s Song’ for their 30th anniversary and shared ‘Asking For A Friend.’
The band recently released a live album, ‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. I’, capturing their intimate club shows, and played their first show of the year without Pat Smear.
They'll be touring the UK and Europe this summer, including festival appearances at Mad Cool, Pinkpop, and headline slots at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium. Find remaining tickets here.
Earlier this week, the band announced the Australia and New Zealand leg of their ‘Take Cover’ tour for 2026 and 2027. Find all the details here.
NME gave the new title track a glowing four-star review, praising it as “unstoppable and laser-focussed”.
Andrew Trendell of NME wrote, “Foos have certainly turned up the heat, shifting to a more thrilling gear when they could cruise down the slow lane to keep things rolling across the stadium and festival circuit this summer. Despite having made headlines in recent years for drummer squabbles and infidelity, their comeback single is snarlingly unapologetic.”
