Footballhead Delivers Nostalgic Alt-Rock with New Single "Diversion"
Chicago's Footballhead channels late-90s emo-grunge in their new single "Diversion," complete with a high-school gym music video. Their album 'Weight Of The Truth' is due soon.

Right now, there's a wave of young bands making Deftones-style guitar-churn music with heavy riffs and vulnerable vocals. Chicago emo-grungers Footballhead definitely fit that mold, and they take the late-'90s thing further than most.
Consider: They shot their new video in what appears to be a high-school gym, and frontman Ryan Nolen is wearing some absolutely enormous jeans. If you're the right age, everything about this song and video might take you back.
Footballhead's new album Weight Of The Truth is on the way, and we've already heard the early tracks "Hesitate" and "Used To Be."
"Diversion," their latest, is a propulsive riff-stomper with a video from directors Tom Conway and Chris Owsiany. If you stuffed these kids in a time machine and booked them to play the second stage of an alt-rock radio station festival in 1998, they'd fit right in. Check it out below.
Weight Of The Truth is out 3/20 on Tiny Engines.
