The 29th season of The Voice, dubbed the “Battle of Champions,” concluded on April 14, featuring veteran coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend.
This season, Alexia Jayy from Team Adam emerged victorious with her rendition of “Lady Marmalade,” a closing performance of “One and Only,” and a duet with Maroon 5's frontman on “Sunday Morning.” Liv Ciara from Team Kelly secured second place, followed by Lucas West in third, and Mikenley Brown in fourth.
With this win, Levine has coached four champions: Javier Colon (2011), Tessanne Chin (2013), Jordan Smith (2015), and now Jayy.
However, Blake Shelton remains the most successful coach in the show's history, with nine victories across 27 seasons.
When The Voice premiered on NBC as an answer to American Idol, the original coaching lineup included Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Shelton, and CeeLo Green. Shelton also holds the record for the longest coaching tenure, appearing on the panel for 23 seasons.
Over the years, numerous star musicians have served as coaches, including Ariana Grande, Shakira, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Nick Jonas.
