From Fan Wish to Flamingo: Tyla Joins Toy Story 5 Cast
A-Pop sensation Tyla is making her voice acting debut in the sub-Saharan edition of Toy Story 5, fulfilling a long-held wish to work with Disney and Pixar. She'll voice an inflatable flamingo, joining a star-studded cast including **Tay...

Call it fate: three years ago, Tyla declared, “Disney, hmu when you free.” Now, it seems her wish has been granted. The queen of A-Pop is set to make her voice acting debut in the sub-Saharan edition of Toy Story 5, hitting theaters on June 19.
“Come and watch with your whole family because your girl Tyla is in the movie as the inflatable flamingo!” she excitedly told fans in a recent video. She expressed her absolute joy at joining the Pixar family, noting, “I just couldn’t believe the offer was presented to me.”
For Tyla, this opportunity is a “full-circle moment.” She fondly recalled growing up with the Toy Story films, a beloved tradition for her entire family. “My parents love it, my whole family loves it. We all love going to the cinema and watching every new one,” she shared in a YouTube video, highlighting the series’ generational appeal and its clever exploration of evolving technology.
Toy Story 5 isn't just a win for Tyla; it's a star-studded affair. Taylor Swift recently released “I Knew It, I Knew You,” a country song crafted for the film’s soundtrack, which she later performed with Randy Newman at the movie’s U.S. premiere. The American voice cast also boasts global sensation Bad Bunny as the character "Pizza with Sunglasses."
Beyond her cinematic venture, Tyla is gearing up for a busy summer. Her sophomore album, A*Pop, is slated for release on July 24 via FAX/Epic. The album will feature recent singles like “She Did It Again,” a collaboration with Zara Larsson, and her 2025 track “Chanel.” Fans can also catch her live as she performs at the opening ceremonies for the 2026 World Cup on June 11 and 12, in Inglewood and Mexico City, respectively.
