Fugazi Release Unheard Steve Albini Sessions to Benefit Late Producer's Charity
Fugazi honors the late Steve Albini by releasing their 1992 Electrical Audio sessions, with proceeds benefiting Albini's Letters Charity. Hear the raw recordings that led to 'In on the Kill Taker'.

In a heartfelt tribute, Fugazi has released previously unheard recordings from their 1992 sessions at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio. These sessions, engineered and mixed by Albini himself, were ultimately scrapped by the band and the producer, leading them to re-record the songs with Ted Niceley for their 1993 album, In on the Kill Taker.
Dischord Records announced the release of these original sessions, stating that all proceeds will be donated to Letters Charity, an organization founded by Albini and his wife, Heather Whinna, to support Chicago families facing poverty.
You can listen to “Facet Squared” and “Smallpox Champion” below, and purchase the album on Bandcamp.
Last year, Rye Coalition reunited to cover Shellac’s “Wingwalker,” for a charity single with Drive Like Jehu that, like this release, benefitted Albini’s Letters Charity.
