Greta Van Fleet Spark Breakup Rumors with Cryptic Social Media Post

Fans of Greta Van Fleet are on high alert after a recent social media post ignited speculation about the band's future.

The Michigan rock band, whose last live performances supporting their third album ‘Starcatcher’ occurred in the summer of 2024, has been notably inactive.

On May 4th, the band released a video montage of their journey, culminating in the message: “Thanks for the wild rise. Love, Josh, Jake, Sam and Daniel.” This post, their first since July of last year, lacks further explanation.

The post immediately triggered concern among fans, with comments ranging from disbelief to worry about a potential breakup.

However, some fans are offering alternative theories, pointing out that the video features the first single from each album, suggesting the possibility of new music on the horizon.

In 2023, frontman Josh Kiszka shared that he felt a significant weight lifted after coming out as part of the LGBTQ+ community. He had previously revealed his eight-year same-sex relationship, emphasizing the importance of sharing his truth publicly.

"Everything had been met with love and acceptance and humility and respect, and that was a huge wave of reassurance that things are moving in the right direction,” he said. “As a performer and as an entertainer, a huge weight was lifted. Because ultimately as an artist or just as a person, we all want to be understood to some degree."

Jake Kiszka also made an appearance in Bruce Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, portraying a guitarist in a local band joined by Bruce Springsteen. Dave Cobb, the producer of ‘Starcatcher’, also produced the film and enlisted Bobby Emmett from Jack White’s band for the scene.
