Hayley Williams Unleashes Power Snatch: Three New Singles Drop
Hayley Williams, the powerhouse vocalist of Paramore, has surprised fans with a brand-new project: Power Snatch. The band, a collaboration with Daniel James, has already released three singles, showcasing a diverse sonic palette.

Hayley Williams is back, but not quite as you know her. The Paramore frontwoman has launched a new band called Power Snatch with frequent collaborator Daniel James, and they've already dropped three new singles.
James, who also helped write and produce tracks for Williams’ latest solo album, ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, joins her in this exciting new venture.
The pair unveiled the project on Apple Music 1 this week, confirming the immediate availability of their single ‘Assignment’.
Eagle-eyed fans have since discovered that Power Snatch's Instagram page has been active since last summer, teasing snippets of new music as far back as July.
Furthermore, a Bandcamp search reveals a third single, ‘DMs’.
For ‘DMs,’ the duo explores a melancholic, shoegaze-inspired sound. Williams' vocals, raw and emotive, recount a past relationship over grungy, distorted guitars: “Where I should keep this memory, that version of me/ She was real but she was weak, weak in the knees.” The chorus culminates in the poignant lines: “I remember when I was her/ I remember when I was your girl.”
The untitled track previewed on Instagram offers a stark contrast, embracing a more unsettling and abstract instrumental landscape. Williams delivers tongue-in-cheek lyrics with a calm demeanor, musing, “I think about Wayne’s World the way some folks think about The Godfather”.
‘Assignment,’ the track announced on Apple Music 1, leans into heavier territory, characterized by intense, high-energy instrumentation. Some listeners have drawn comparisons to artists like Buckethead.
This new music arrives shortly after Williams' critically acclaimed solo album, which dropped in July. However, the singer has hinted at her desire to explore diverse musical avenues.
In an October interview with Rolling Stone, she expressed her ambition to “be in 100 bands before I die,” stating that it aligns with her preferred creative pace.
Prior to that, she spoke to Kerrang! about her lack of urgency to immediately follow up Paramore’s 2023 album ‘This Is Why,’ explaining her focus on solo work. “It wasn’t time to make another Paramore record, but I had a lot of shit to say, so I’ve done what I’ve done for myself and made this record,” she said of her 2025 solo release.
“It’s OK that it’s me by myself and not Paramore right now. Paramore will always have its time because it’s just what we do,” she added. “We cycle back in and out of it. We resent it one minute. We want to wear matching clothes in the next minute.”
While Power Snatch is generating buzz, live shows may be on hold for the moment. Williams is currently preparing for a global tour supporting ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, which has been extended due to high demand.
‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ is nominated for four Grammys at this weekend’s ceremony, including Best Alternative Music Album.
The album received a five-star review from NME, hailed as a “brilliant, swaggering new chapter” for the alt-rock icon, and secured the Number Nine spot on NME’s 50 Best Albums of 2025 list.
In other news, Williams helped release an album recorded by her grandfather 50 years ago, and covered one of his tracks from the '70s.
