Iceage Announces New Album 'For Love of Grace & the Hereafter,' Shares "Ember" Video
Iceage returns with 'For Love of Grace & the Hereafter,' their first album since 2021's 'Seek Shelter,' and a captivating video for the new single, "Ember."
Iceage is back, marking their return with a new album, their first since 2021. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is slated for release on May 29th via Mexican Summer. The announcement arrives with the release of a music video for their new track, "Ember," skillfully directed by the band and Elias Rønnenfelt’s sister, Ira. The video encapsulates a day of spirited escapades, featuring dirt-biking, graffiti art, kite-flying, and interactions with plush toys, smoke flares, and a friendly flock of sheep. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter was recorded in 2025 at Silence Studio in rural Sweden, the same location where Iceage created their 2014 album Plowing Into the Field of Love. Longtime associate Nis Bysted contributed to the LP's mixing and production. "The songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast,” Rønnenfelt stated. “We wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most.”
"Ember" is the second single Iceage has unveiled from For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, following last month’s "Star." This release signals the band's first new material since their 2021 album, Seek Shelter. During this period, Rønnenfelt remained active, launching his solo career with the album Heavy Glory in 2024, followed by Speak Daggers last year.
