Ahead of his sixth appearance on Saturday Night Live, Jack White has dropped two brand new tracks, "G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico.” Expect to hear these tunes during the broadcast. The songs are now available on streaming platforms and will be released on vinyl tomorrow via thirdmanrecords.com and Third Man shops in Nashville, Detroit, and London.

Jack Black is hosting Saturday Night Live alongside White's performance. The two first collaborated in 2019 when White produced the Tenacious D single “Don’t Blow it, Kage,” released on Third Man. The pair jokingly called the project “Jack Gray.” A funny anecdote involves a fan sending a photo of Jack Black in his Mandalorian costume to Third Man Records, requesting an autograph. White shared this on Instagram, saying, “We received this letter to Jack Black at Third Man Records recently. I’m guessing somebody got their wires crossed. I’m debating what I should do, any ideas?”

Both Jacks have extensive histories with Saturday Night Live. Jack White debuted with the White Stripes on October 19, 2002, hosted by John McCain, performing “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” and “We’re Going to Be Friends.” He returned solo in 2012, 2018, 2020, and 2023. His 2020 appearance was a last-minute replacement for Morgan Wallen, who violated COVID protocols. White also participated in the SNL 40th and 50th anniversary celebrations.

Jack Black hosted the show in 2002, 2003, and 2005, and again last year after a twenty-year hiatus. This Saturday marks his fifth hosting episode, earning him a spot in the Five-Timers Club. Expect a sketch with cameos from other club members presenting him with the green jacket.

If a Five-Timers Club existed for musical acts, White would be a prime candidate. He's embarking on a tour this summer, primarily overseas, starting May 30 in Sigulda, Latvia, and concluding September 20 at the Borderland Festival in East Aurora, New York.
