Two years after his departure from Republic Records, James Blake is gearing up to release Trying Times, his first independent studio album, on March 13 via Good Boy Records. The lead single, "Death of Love," featuring the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, is available now.

The 12-track LP includes contributions from UK rapper Dave and Los Angeles-based vocalist Monica Martin. Blake initially teased Trying Times to fans three days prior to the announcement via the website tryingtimes.info. In a press statement, Blake describes the album as a commentary on the relentless nature of modern life.
Blake's previous album, Playing Robots into Heaven, was released in 2023.
