Jisoo Teases 'Wider Range' of Music on Debut Solo Album, Addresses Pressure of Fan Expectations
Jisoo of BLACKPINK discusses her upcoming solo album and how she manages the pressures of fame in a new interview, promising a diverse musical experience for her fans.
Jisoo is gearing up for her highly anticipated solo debut, and she's offering a glimpse into her creative process. In a recent interview with V Magazine, the BLACKPINK star shared insights into her upcoming full-length album and how she navigates the pressures of fan expectations.
Discussing her new music, Jisoo revealed, "Since I’m preparing a full-length album this time, I’m working on showing a wider range of music."
She added, "I think I’d be really happy if people listen to this album and say they discovered a new side of me."
While Jisoo has previously released singles and an EP (last year’s AMORTAGE) as a solo artist, this will be her first full-length project. She is the final member of BLACKPINK to release a full album, following Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé, who have all charted on the Billboard 200 with their respective albums: Alter Ego, Ruby, and Rosie. The group recently reunited for the EP DEADLINE after concluding their DEADLINE World Tour.
Acknowledging the high expectations surrounding her solo debut, Jisoo admitted that "receiving so much attention and expectation can sometimes feel like pressure."
However, she maintains a healthy perspective: "I try not to worry about it too much and remind myself that it’s enough to simply be true to who I am."
"That’s my way of protecting myself," she explained. "Instead of spending time worrying, I try to focus on living each day fully."
