Kate Beckinsale Claims Agent Fired Her Over Gaza Support, Says Mark Ruffalo Ignored Her
Kate Beckinsale alleges she was dropped by her agent after supporting a Gaza ceasefire online, and that Mark Ruffalo didn't respond to her concerns.

Kate Beckinsale has ignited a social media storm, claiming she lost her agent due to her online support for Gaza. She also stated that Mark Ruffalo allegedly ignored her attempts to discuss the matter privately.
Beckinsale took to Instagram on Friday, April 3rd, to share her experience. She alleges her talent agent terminated their relationship after she liked a social media post advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. These comments, though now deleted, have been widely circulated.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Beckinsale wrote, “Gosh, it must be so nice not to be fired by your Agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children,” referencing a post by Ruffalo promoting his film ‘Palestine 36’.
She continued, “I guess having a penis in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same Agent that I had, and she sent me a gift the week before so we didn’t have any beef,” alluding to the Screen Actors Guild strike that impacted the industry from July to November 2023.
“But I liked a post about a ceasefire and I’ve got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon was fired, two days after the end of the strike after nine months of none of us being able to work at all.”
Kate Beckinsale drags Mark Ruffalo on social media for being a vocal pro-Palestinian activist and facing no professional consequences, while she & Susan Sarandon both were fired by their agents:

The Underworld actor emphasized the difficult timing of the situation, noting that her mother, Judy Loe, was given six weeks to live, and her stepfather had just suffered a stroke.
“I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent,” she wrote, adding that her agent “definitely knew what I was dealing with, alone”.
Beckinsale also revealed that she had reached out to Ruffalo privately. “DMd you about this months ago but you ignored me,” she stated directly. However, she clarified that she supports his activism and wasn’t blaming him personally.
“I applaud your voice and your activism but the price you pay for having a vagina while even remotely liking a post that was as un political as it could possibly be,” she said, but pointed to his silence on the issue as an example of “male privilege, even in the good guys”.
NME has contacted Ruffalo's representatives for comment.
