KATSEYE Electrifies Coachella With Debut Performance and Surprise Guests
KATSEYE made a splash at Coachella, performing their new single "Pinky Up" and bringing out HUNTR/X for a memorable collaboration.
The K-pop scene witnessed a vibrant moment as KATSEYE ticked off a major milestone: performing at Coachella.
The five-member group (Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae), currently without Manon due to a temporary hiatus, shared their excitement with Billboard following their debut performance at the iconic music festival in Indio, California, on Friday, April 10.
"It was electric," Lara told Billboard's Tetris Kelly, describing KATSEYE's time on the Sahara Stage. "Our dreams came true last night. You know, every interview, if you’ve ever asked our biggest goal it was playing Coachella. We achieved that last night, so I think it’s so much gratitude."
"It was bonkers," she added, as seen in video of KATSEYE’s full interview, seen above.
One of the highlights of KATSEYE's Coachella set was the surprise appearance of HUNTR/X, who joined them on stage for a performance of the hit "Golden" from Kpop Demon Hunters.
Yoonchae shared her perspective: "I was so happy to bring HUNTR/X to our Coachella stage. They were really, really nice. They were so sweet. When we started to sing ‘Golden,’ we saw a lot of the crowd was screaming — they were so excited. I was so happy about that."
Sophia added, "It’s really beautiful to have a joint slay on the stage at Coachella."
Another significant moment for KATSEYE at Coachella was the live debut of "Pinky Up," their brand-new hyper-pop single, released just before their performance. This marks their first release without Manon.
"We absolutely love, love, love the song," Daniela said. "To perform it for the very first time, debut it at Coachella, was fire. I looked back at the videos and I was like, ‘Guys, we ate that.’ Especially the dance break. The crowd went wild."
Megan added, "I think it’s one of our favorites. It’s very hard-hitting, something that makes us feel confident. I think it’s probably pretty high up there."
