Kehlani Achieves First No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart with Self-Titled Album
Kehlani scores their first No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with their self-titled album, while "Folded" approaches a major radio milestone.

After a pair of runner-up finishes, Kehlani has finally reached the pinnacle, securing their first No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with their self-titled album. Released on April 24 via Tsunami Mob/Atlantic Records, Kehlani debuted with 69,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. during the tracking week of April 24-30, according to Luminate.
Streaming activity accounted for 45,000 units of Kehlani's first-week total, stemming from 45.37 million official on-demand streams of the album's songs. Traditional album sales contributed another 24,000 units, with a negligible amount from track-equivalent sales. (For context, one unit is equivalent to one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 1,000 paid/subscription tier or 2,500 ad-supported tier of official on-demand audio and video streams for a song on the album.)
Prior to this achievement, Kehlani, who was honored with the Impact Award at Billboard's 2026 Women In Music celebration on April 29, had previously reached No. 2 on two occasions: SexySweetSavage in February 2017 and It Was Good Until It Wasn’t in May 2020. This new album marks their seventh consecutive top 10 release on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Kehlani also debuts at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums, marking their fourth chart-topper, and lands at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
Kehlani's success mirrors the breakthrough of their hit single, "Folded." The song reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January, becoming their first top 10 hit, and also claimed the No. 1 spot on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for five weeks. "Folded" is also nearing the No. 1 position on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay; with 15 weeks in charge, it's just one week shy of tying Future’s 2022 hit “Wait for U,” featuring Drake and Tems.
The album's impact is particularly evident on the Hot R&B Songs chart, where "Folded" leads 12 tracks from Kehlani within the 25-position ranking. With 10 new entries, Kehlani now boasts 60 career appearances on the 13-year-old chart.
