La Roux's Messages Corroborate Kanye West Sexual Assault Allegations by Model Jennifer An
New court documents reveal messages from La Roux supporting Jennifer An's claims of sexual assault against Kanye West during a music video shoot. The model alleges West choked and assaulted her.

A model, Jennifer An, who accused Kanye West of sexual assault, has submitted new affidavits, including alleged Instagram exchanges from La Roux, to support her claims. According to court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, La Roux messaged model Jennifer An about her claims against Kanye West, writing, “I could never forget that, it was horrific.”
An, a former finalist on America’s Next Top Model, sued West in November 2024 under New York City’s Gender Motivated Violence Protection Act. She alleges that during the September 2010 shoot for a remix of La Roux’s song “In for the Kill,” West singled her out, saying, “Give me the Asian girl.”
An claims West went off-script, choked her, smeared her makeup, and “rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moving them in and out,” simulating oral sex while yelling, “This is art. This is fucking art. I am like Picasso.”
In January, West’s team moved to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing his actions were “expressive” art protected by free speech.
An’s lawyers countered this week with five exhibits to support her claims. Attorney Jesse S. Weinstein stated, “We disagree with [West’s] contention that the alleged sexual assault of Ms. An was protected artistic expression... Our filing sets out substantial corroborating evidence supporting the allegations, including contemporaneous communications and witness testimony.”
Rolling Stone has reached out to West’s attorneys for comment.
The documents include screenshots of an Instagram exchange between An and La Roux's verified account. In the messages, Elly Jackson (La Roux) provides an email address associated with her full name.
In the 2024 messages, An asks La Roux if she remembered the incident. Jackson confirms, writing: “I have never seen the footage (thankfully) and obviously I asked for it to never be used or for it to be seen as you were understandably very concerned about anyone or your family seeing it.”
“I’m so sorry it happened,” Jackson added.
The court documents show Jackson acknowledging she had previously referred to the incident publicly but felt “it wasn’t my story to tell” and that West “already threatened me in some way,” adding, “He wanted to remind me of his power and status and threatened me with my career essentially. I’ve obviously continued to say how I feel about him regardless but I haven’t told your story out of respect for you.”
In 2020, Jackson said West demanded she write him an apology email after he caught wind of her commentary.
Reps for Jackson did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
The exhibits also include a signed statement from Liz Martins, a makeup artist on set, who wrote that she saw West “forcefully put his fingers down [An’s] mouth and told her to, ‘Suck on them.’”
“This sexual assault was not a part of the script,” Martins added. “Everyone on set was shocked and nervous to step in because of Kanye’s influence. Afterwards, [An] was crying and I heard her repeatedly say, ‘My mom is going to see this. I don’t want my mom to see this.’”
Michelle An, unrelated to Jennifer An, submitted an affirmation stating that while she didn't see West's fingers in An's mouth or around her neck, she did see West standing over the model and appearing to “move his thumb back and forth across the outside of [the] plaintiff’s mouth.”
Michelle An wrote that she was “not saying that it did not happen, only that, from where I was located on the set, I did not — and could not — see it happen.”
The remaining exhibits contain reports from a private investigation firm that located other crew members who recalled West sticking his fingers down An’s mouth. West is currently in a trial for a separate lawsuit from a former worker at his Malibu mansion and faces another sexual assault lawsuit from his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, who sued him in 2024. He denies her claims.
