Lauryn Hill Honors D'Angelo and Roberta Flack with Star-Studded Grammy Tribute
Lauryn Hill delivered a powerful tribute to R&B legends D'Angelo and Roberta Flack at the Grammys, featuring an array of talented artists.

Following Post Malone's tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, Lauryn Hill took center stage at the Grammys in a stunning black gown to honor the legacies of D'Angelo and Roberta Flack, two titans of R&B who passed away in 2025.
Hill's tribute to D'Angelo began with their duet "Nothing Even Matters." She then welcomed Lucky Daye for "Brown Sugar," Raphael Saadiq and Anthony Hamilton for "Lady," Leon Thomas for "Devils Pie," and Anthony Hamilton again for "Another Life." Fellow Soulaquarian Bilal delivered a moving rendition of "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," and Jon Batiste joined on keys for "Africa."
Ms. Hill then transitioned into a medley celebrating the iconic Roberta Flack.
Batiste remained on stage for "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," while Leon Bridges and Alexia Jayy performed "Compared to What." Lalah Hathaway and October London offered their take on "Closer I Get to You," and John Legend and Chaka Khan delivered a powerful performance of "Where Is the Love."
Lauryn concluded the tribute with "Feel Like Makin' Love" before reuniting with Wyclef Jean of the Fugees for a rendition of "Killing Me Softly With His Song." Wyclef surprised the audience by walking onstage with an electric guitar, reprising their iconic version from the Grammy-winning album The Score, which catapulted Lauryn to fame in 1996.
Collectively, Hill, Flack, and D'Angelo boast an impressive 47 Grammy nominations and 16 wins. Roberta has secured four wins from 14 nominations, D'Angelo mirrors this achievement, while Lauryn stands out with eight Grammys from 19 nominations.
