Lip Critic Announces New Album 'Theft World' After Bizarre Fan Encounter
Lip Critic, fresh off the acclaim of their debut album Hex Dealer, are set to release Theft World. The album's creation was sparked by a strange encounter with a fan who stole frontman Bret Kaser's identity.
Lip Critic captivated listeners with their chaotic debut album, Hex Dealer, earning them a Band To Watch nod. Now, they're gearing up to release their highly anticipated follow-up, Theft World, and the story behind it is truly unique.
While touring Hex Dealer, frontman Bret Kaser fell victim to identity theft. The culprit? A young fan, clad in a Five Nights At Freddy's hoodie, who believed Lip Critic's music contained hidden codes for an elaborate scavenger hunt. This bizarre encounter, recorded at a halal restaurant, inspired the band to completely rework their new album, resulting in Theft World.
The lead single, "Legs In A Snare," is out now, accompanied by a fever dream of a music video directed by Colter Fellows. Check it out below:
