Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter's Electrifying Coachella Duet: A 'Vogue' Throwback and New Music Tease
Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter's Coachella Weekend Two headlining set, delivering a nostalgic 'Vogue' performance and teasing new music from her upcoming 'Confessions II' album.

Following mounting rumors, Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter's headlining performance on Friday night of Coachella Weekend Two. The pop icon's return to the desert ignited the crowd.
Madonna emerged onstage as Carpenter sang "Juno," a highlight from her Short ‘n Sweet tour where she playfully "arrested" celebrities. Amidst flashing lights and backup dancers, the pair delivered a vibrant duet of the 1990 hit “Vogue” before teasing a new track seemingly from Madonna’s upcoming Confessions II.
Madonna then addressed the crowd, saying, "Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show." A thrilled Carpenter replied, "No thanks needed, Madonna. You can have whatever you want."
"I have a few things I wanna get off my chest," Madonna continued. "20 years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on the Dance Floor Part One in America. That was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me."
After a brief astrology lesson, Madonna advised, "So in all circumstances for the rest of the month, let’s try to get along," adding, "the great thing about music is that it brings people together, am I right? It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their shit down, and just everybody have a good time together."
"So, I am thrilled to be a part of that healing experience, bringing people together," she said, before launching into a breathtaking duet of "Like a Prayer" with Carpenter.

Madonna’s appearance at Coachella follows the announcement of Confessions II, the sequel to her 2005 LP Confessions on a Dance Floor, set for release on July 3.
"People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong," Madonna said in a statement. "The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language."
The pop legend also unveiled a taste of the upcoming LP with “I Feel So Free,” which iHeartRadio’s Pride Radio exclusively debuted on Friday, April 17.
Last week, Carpenter captivated Coachella. Her Weekend One set featured the live debuts of “When Did You Get Hot,” “Sugar Talking,” and “We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night” from Man’s Best Friend, plus the limited edition bonus track “Such a Funny Way.”
Back in 2024, Carpenter first performed at Coachella during her early evening set and declared, "Coachella, see you back here when I headline." After conquering the massive festival for both weekends, the Grammy winner has truly delivered on her promise.
