Madonna Announces 'Confessions II': A Dance Floor Revelation
Madonna unveils plans for Confessions II, the highly anticipated sequel to her iconic dance album, alongside a profound manifesto on the spiritual power of dance music.

After months of speculation, Madonna has officially announced Confessions II, the follow-up to her acclaimed 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. The album is slated for release on July 3rd, accompanied by a visual teaser. The lead single is titled "One Step Away."
"People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong," Madonna stated. "The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language."

Madonna also shared the manifesto she and producer Stuart Price established at the start of the album's creation:
"We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect — with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people. Sound, light, and vibration reshape our perceptions. Pulling us into a trance-like state. The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time."

The original Confessions on a Dance Floor was Price's first full album production for Madonna, although they began collaborating in 2001 with remixes from her Music album. The album spawned hits like “Hung Up,” “Sorry,” “Get Together,” and “Jump,” solidifying its place as a fan favorite.
The announcement of Confessions II coincides with other projects for Madonna. She is set to appear in the upcoming season of Seth Rogen’s show, The Studio. She was recently spotted filming in Venice, Italy, alongside Julia Garner, who was previously cast to portray the pop icon in a biopic that was ultimately shelved. The show appears to be set in an alternate reality where the film was actually produced.
