Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja Arrested at Palestine Action Protest in London
Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack was among hundreds arrested in London during a protest supporting Palestine Action, highlighting concerns over civil liberties and government actions.

Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack was among the 500+ individuals arrested in London this past Saturday while protesting in support of Palestine Action. The demonstration took place in Trafalgar Square, London.
Del Naja participated in the mass protest, opposing the British government's ban on the group. He held a sign stating, “I Oppose Genocide, I Support Palestine Action.”
In a statement shared on Instagram, Del Naja expressed his disbelief that in Britain in 2026, someone could be arrested under the Terrorism Act for peacefully protesting against genocide and supporting non-violent action.
He emphasized the importance of upholding international laws and urged the UK government to act with integrity, similar to countries like Spain, by refusing to support illegal US/Israeli actions.
Del Naja stated that a few hours in police custody was a small price to pay. He believes such actions are crucial for preserving democracy and civil liberties.
Before his arrest, Del Naja spoke about his concerns regarding travel and visas due to his involvement in the protest. However, he felt compelled to participate, calling the situation "ridiculous."
In July 2025, the British government outlawed support for Palestine Action under anti-terror legislation, a ban that was later ruled unlawful in February but remains in effect pending appeal.
The protest, known as Everyone Day, was a response to the ongoing resistance against the ban on Palestine Action. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of 523 people during the event. Since the ban's implementation, over 2,700 individuals have been arrested for allegedly supporting the group.
