Megan Thee Stallion Opens Up About Finding Love with Klay Thompson: 'Lover Girl Era'
Megan Thee Stallion discusses her relationship with Klay Thompson, emphasizing the importance of self-love and healing before entering a relationship.

Megan Thee Stallion is embracing what she describes as her "Lover Girl" era, a shift she says happened organically.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the Grammy-winning artist shared insights into her relationship with Klay Thompson of the Dallas Mavericks. She highlighted how prioritizing her healing journey paved the way for love.
"Well, I don’t never want to tell [anybody] to just jump in a relationship just because everybody else got one, and I’m not going to tell you to just jump in a relationship because you have to," the Houston rapper stated. "I didn’t even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest."
Megan and Thompson made their red carpet debut in July 2025. She notes that this relationship blossomed during a period of intense focus on therapy and personal growth.
"I think that because finally I started being in a better mind space about myself and my life, and I had already been doing a lot of work to heal me," she explained. "I had been going to therapy, I had a bunch of activities that I started doing for myself; maybe God just opened up that space for me to have somebody that loved me right."
She now expresses a newfound sense of comfort.
"This is one of the first times that I’ve ever been just overly comfortable," Megan shared with a laugh: "I’m comfy, babe!"
Despite her happiness, she advises fans against actively seeking love.
"People got to stop trying to be in love and trying to chase love," she cautioned. "They just got to let it come to them. When it’s meant for you, it’s going to happen. God does not give you nothing that is not meant for you."
The pair initially sparked rumors in July 2025 after Megan posted a vacation photo featuring Klay Thompson in the background on Instagram.
Thompson subtly acknowledged the relationship by posting photos from a trip to the Bahamas around the same time.
