Megan Thee Stallion Rushed to Hospital After 'Moulin Rouge' Performance: 'My Body Said Enough'

Megan Thee Stallion is recovering after experiencing 'extreme exhaustion' while performing in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway. The rapper updated fans on Wednesday, describing feeling like she was 'gonna faint on stage'.
"Last night was a real wake-up call for me," Megan shared on Instagram. "I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough."
She continued, "It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t. Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down 🥺 I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been."
She added: "I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve. Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything."
A representative for the rapper told Rolling Stone that Megan's condition led to her abrupt departure from Tuesday's performance and subsequent hospitalization.
"On Tuesday evening, Megan was transported to a local hospital to undergo a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms," her rep stated. "Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms."
The rapper "has since been treated, discharged and is now resting," the rep added.
Megan began feeling unwell during Tuesday night's performance. Her rep confirmed she was "promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated."
Kellon Deryck, Megan's hairstylist, posted on X, "Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital."
In February, Megan announced her joining the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical as Zidler. Her run began on March 24 and concludes on May 17.
"I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively," Megan Thee Stallion said in a statement to The New York Times about her role, "and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace."
She added: "Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me."
On Wednesday, Megan Thee Stallion’s rep confirmed her expected return to the stage this week. "Megan is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters and is looking forward to resuming her role as Zidler on Moulin Rouge on Thursday."
