Metallica Extends Sphere Residency to 24 Shows: 'Life Burns Faster' Maxed Out!
Metallica amps up their Las Vegas Sphere residency, adding more dates due to high demand, bringing the total to a staggering 24 shows. Fans can expect unique, no-repeat performances throughout the run.
It seems Metallica is fully committed to their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Initially planned as an eight-show engagement at the cutting-edge venue, the metal legends have now announced, “this is it — we’re maxing out Life Burns Faster.”

As is typical with the Sphere, the initial dates were expanded, first with six additional shows, then another six, and now, a final four, bringing the total to 24 performances, which the band insists is the definitive number.
These newly added shows will extend the residency into 2027, with dates scheduled for March 4 & 6 and March 11 & 13. Presales for Legacy and Fifth Members begin at 10 a.m. ET on Friday (March 6), followed by a Ticketmaster artist presale at noon ET for those previously registered. Metallica has confirmed that the shows will continue the No Repeat Weekend concept that began with their expansive M72 world tour in 2023. This means fans attending both the Thursday and Saturday shows can anticipate a completely unique setlist each night.
Lars Ulrich, drummer for Metallica, expressed his excitement, stating, “About 12 seconds into the opening night of the Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’ This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way f–kin’ psyched to go next level!” The Sphere has previously hosted acts ranging from U2 and Phish to Anyma, Kenny Chesney, the Backstreet Boys, and the Zac Brown Band.
