Miss Grit Announces New Album 'Under My Umbrella,' Shares Haunting Single 'Stranger'

The highly anticipated album, Under My Umbrella, arrives April 24 via Mute. To celebrate, Miss Grit has unveiled a mesmerizing new track, "Stranger," crafted in collaboration with Aron Kobayashi Ritch from Momma. Check out the video below:

Sohn offered a glimpse into the new record in 2025 with the release of "Tourist Mind" and its accompanying video. Under My Umbrella was primarily created in their Queens apartment, with contributions from artists like mmph, Margaux, and Eva Liu and Luciano Rossi of mui zyu.

"I tried not to edit too much or force a moment to happen," Sohn explained in a statement. "It feels truer to myself, and more of a representation of what is actually coming out of me."

Their debut album, the self-produced Follow The Cyborg, was released in 2023. This concept album followed a non-human machine's journey to awareness, drawing inspiration from sci-fi classics like Her, Fallen Angels, and Ghost in the Shell. Prior to that, Miss Grit shared the Impostor EP in 2021.
