Legendary music executive Clive Davis was hospitalized in New York City for an upper respiratory issue but is expected to be released soon.

Clive Davis, the iconic 94-year-old music executive, has been hospitalized in New York City.
Billboard has confirmed that Davis was admitted on Friday, May 29th, due to an upper respiratory issue. According to TMZ, his representative stated that the hospitalization was "out of an abundance of caution."
Sources indicate that he is expected to be discharged within the next 24 hours.
The hospitalization occurred shortly after Davis attended the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner and Auction in New York City, as reported by Page Six.
Davis, a key figure in the careers of Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana, and Alicia Keys, has faced health challenges before. In February 2021, he postponed his annual pre-Grammy gala after being diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.
At the time, his representative stated, “He’s being treated with antibiotics and steroids and will make a full recovery within six to eight weeks, at which point he plans to host the second installment of the virtual pre-Grammy gala.”
Davis's pre-Grammy gala has been a staple event on the eve of the Grammy Awards since 1976.
A four-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Davis is considered one of the most influential figures in music history. He became president of Columbia Records in 1967 at the age of 35. His career includes executive roles at CBS Records, the founding of Arista Records and J Records, leadership of RCA Music Group, and most recently, the title of chief creative officer at Sony Music Entertainment.
