Noah Kahan Returns to SNL with Matt Damon: A Night of Music and Satirical Laughs
Noah Kahan made a triumphant return to Saturday Night Live, performing tracks from his chart-topping album alongside host Matt Damon. The episode was packed with musical moments and sharp political satire.

Last night, Noah Kahan graced the SNL stage for the second time, solidifying his status as a major musical force. Kahan first appeared on the show in 2023, delivering memorable performances of his breakout hits "Stick Season" and "Dial Drunk." This time, with Matt Damon hosting, Kahan captivated the audience with the title track from his recent #1 album, The Great Divide, and the emotionally resonant song "Doors."
This marked Damon's third appearance as host of SNL. The cold open featured Damon as Brett Kavanaugh, with Aziz Ansari reprising his role as FBI Director Kash Patel and Colin Jost as Pete Hegseth. The sketch cleverly satirized current events, set in a bar where Ansari poked fun at Patel's extravagant bourbon collection. The scene culminated in the trio quoting and then singing Chumbawamba's iconic anthem, "Tubthumping."
Beyond the political satire, the episode was filled with musical interludes. Jane Wickline's appearance on Weekend Update brought a humorous and relatable song about "being chronically late." Her lyrics perfectly captured the frustration and absurdity of tardiness. "You wanna know if I'm on my way," she sang. "Guess what bitch I'm gonna show up forty minutes late with an ice cream cone, forty minutes late with an ice cream cone, forty minutes late with an ice cream cone/ I'll look you straight in the eyes, say the trains were slow."
