A new documentary chronicling the Oasis reunion tour, overseen by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, is set to hit cinemas and stream on Disney+.
Steven Knight's highly anticipated documentary about the Oasis reunion tour is heading to Disney+.
The film, produced by Knight, documents the Britpop band's return during their Live ‘25 reunion tour. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, known for the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up And Play The Hits, are directing.
The as-yet-untitled film will premiere in cinemas worldwide, including IMAX screens, for a limited theatrical run starting September 11. Following this, it will be available on Disney+ globally, and on Disney+ and Hulu in the US, starting in 2026.
The documentary will feature exclusive footage of rehearsals, backstage moments, onstage access, and the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher in over 25 years. It will also explore the tour's impact and how Oasis' music has resonated with audiences across generations.
Knight shared his enthusiasm for the film, stating: "I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people. I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope."
Reports suggest the project will include "phenomenal" footage of Liam and Noel Gallagher's first meeting before their comeback shows.
Earlier this year, Knight mentioned that his initial cut of the movie was four hours long, emphasizing the need to shorten it while maintaining its narrative structure. "It’s a documentary with a plot, do you know what I mean? It’s actually got a story. And then we’ve expanded it…you’ll see when you see it."
Noel Gallagher also commented on the documentary, saying, "I’ve only seen a tiny little bit of it and it’s difficult to have an opinion on it because I’m only looking at little snippets."
In February, Noel revealed he was back in the recording studio, though it remains unclear whether this was for new Oasis music or another project.
NME gave the opening night of Live ’25 in Cardiff a glowing five-star review, describing it as "Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century."
