'One Battle After Another' Dominates the 2026 Oscars: Full Winners List

The 2026 Academy Awards unfolded at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on March 15th, marking a night of anticipated wins and surprising upsets. This year, Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, entered the ceremony with a staggering 16 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, setting a new record. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another followed closely with 13 nominations, while Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value each garnered nine nominations.

Ultimately, One Battle After Another clinched the coveted Best Picture and Best Director awards. Meanwhile, the inescapable hit “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters secured the Best Original Song award, triumphing over strong contenders like Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson’s “I Lied To You” from Sinners, and “Train Dreams” by Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner.

Göransson, however, wasn't left empty-handed, taking home the trophy for Best Original Score for Sinners. He bested fellow nominees Alexandre Desplat (Frankenstein), Jerskin Fendrix (Bugonia), Jonny Greenwood (One Battle After Another), and Max Richter (Hamnet).

This year's Oscars ceremony was hosted by Conan O’Brien, who kicked off the show with a hilarious video montage. In it, he was dressed as the villain from Weapons, pursued by a throng of children. The skit culminated with O’Brien and the children bursting into the theater. O’Brien then staged a mock award win, complete with a knighting, a blessing from the Pope, and a live song performed by Josh Groban.
