Reports have surfaced that Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., was taken into custody by federal authorities on Wednesday, April 1, along with Big30 and six other individuals. The charges leveled against them include robbery and kidnapping, according to TMZ.

The Justice Department alleges that on January 10, Pooh Shiesty, Big30, and their associates stormed a recording studio in Dallas and robbed several people present, including Gucci Mane.

Authorities are also implicating Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., in the incident.

According to a DOJ spokesman, Shiesty purportedly arranged a meeting with Gucci Mane and other figures from the music industry under the guise of discussing his contract terms. Instead, he and the other defendants allegedly “executed a coordinated armed takeover.”

It's alleged that Shiesty forced one of the victims to sign a contract release at gunpoint. Furthermore, he and the others are accused of robbing the victims of cash and jewelry.

According to WFAA, one of the victims was allegedly “choked during the robbery to the point of near unconsciousness.” Big30 is accused of obstructing the door to prevent anyone from escaping.

The FBI conducted a raid on Shiesty’s Memphis residence on Wednesday.

Ryan Raybould, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, where the complaint was filed, stated at a news conference Thursday, per AP News: “The victims in this case came to Dallas to conduct legitimate business and they were met with firearms and violence.”

Neither Shiesty nor Gucci Mane have issued any public statements regarding the arrests.

Pooh Shiesty signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label in 2020 and rapidly gained recognition with his 2021 mixtape, ‘Shiesty Season.’

In 2022, he received a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a single firearms conspiracy charge related to his involvement in an October 2020 shooting at a hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, where he allegedly shot a 28-year-old man in the buttocks. He served three years and was released last October, with his comeback single ‘FDO’ debuting at Number 12 on the Hot 100. At the time of the alleged robbery and kidnapping, he was under home detention.
