Public Image Ltd. Announces Extensive North American Tour and New Album
Public Image Ltd. (PiL) is set to embark on a sprawling North American tour stretching into 2027, coinciding with a new live album and a forthcoming studio album.

Public Image Ltd. are showing no signs of slowing down, with plans stretching well into 2027. Fans can anticipate a spring 2026 release of Alive, a live album culled from their 2025 tour. Following this, a comprehensive North American tour will kick off in the fall and extend into spring 2027. Adding to the excitement, PiL is currently crafting a new studio album, expected to drop early next year.
Frontman John Lydon faced a challenging period, nearly retiring from touring after the passing of his wife, Nora Forster, and his manager, Rambo Stevens, in 2023.
"After losing Nora, and Rambo, I couldn’t see a way through. The thing is, people were so overwhelmingly positive, they really showed me a lot of love, and they asked me to tour PiL again,” he shared in a press statement. “With so many people asking and with the band meaning so much to them, I couldn’t just stay on my sofa and not tour—tempting though that obviously is.”
He continued, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming shows: “We’re looking forward to playing to our friends in North America. It feels like it’s been a long time and we’re pleased to be coming back. We’ve just been into the studio for four weeks to start work on our new record. You'll be hearing a lot more from PiL.”
