The music world mourns the loss of Bo Lueders, guitarist for the influential metallic hardcore band Harm's Way and co-host of the popular Hardlore podcast. Lueders passed away at the age of 38.

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Bo Lueders, guitarist for Harm's Way and co-host of the Hardlore podcast. The news was announced this afternoon via the Hardlore social media channels. At this time, the cause of death has not been disclosed. The Instagram post included a message urging anyone struggling with depression or self-harm to seek help. Lueders was 38 years old.
Before his time with Harm's Way, Bo Lueders was a member of the straight-edge band Few And The Proud. In 2006, he co-founded the Chicago metallic hardcore powerhouse Harm's Way, known for their brutal yet experimental sound, incorporating elements of powerviolence and industrial music. Their intense live performances solidified their place as one of the most formidable and consistent hardcore bands today.

Lueders also contributed his talents to bands such as Double Crossed and Convicted, and briefly joined the Knocked Loose side project xWeaponx.
In recent years, Lueders teamed up with Colin Young (Twitching Tongues, God's Hate) to host the hugely popular Hardlore podcast. Through the podcast, Lueders' passion for music and engaging personality resonated with listeners, creating a sense of connection even for those who never met him in person. Lueders and Young interviewed iconic figures in punk, hardcore, and metal, delving into the details of recordings and sharing captivating stories. Their enthusiasm for riffs, breakdowns, and even fast food was infectious. Last month, Stereogum highlighted Lueders and Young's reaction to Jeremy Bolm's "secret voice."
> In a heartbreaking social media tribute, Young writes:
>
> >Bo,
>
> >I am writing this in hopes that it reaches you in some way cosmically. I will love, mourn, and celebrate you forever.
>
> >This beautiful thing we built together was the greatest honor of my life, and my only solace is knowing that we documented a lifetime of memories, at first to share with the world, but now to look back on and and preserve your warm, kind soul forever.
>
> >Say hey to Cayle and Cliff Burton for us, and feel free to stop by and haunt me any time.
