Shakira Shatters Records with Free Concert in Mexico City's Zócalo
Shakira drew a record-breaking crowd of 400,000 fans to a free concert in Mexico City's Zócalo, marking the culmination of her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour in the country.

Shakira delivered a monumental performance to a record-breaking 400,000 fans at the Zócalo in Mexico City. The free concert served as the grand finale of her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour in Mexico, a country she considers a second home.
"Today, I feel a mix of excitement, nostalgia, and gratitude. Today is our last day here in Mexico, my home," Shakira shared with the ecstatic crowd. "There’s definitely no better reunion than that of a little she-wolf with her Mexican pack here today at the Zócalo. Forever, we are one."
The Mexico City Tourism Secretariat confirmed that the concert marked the largest gathering ever at the Zócalo. They celebrated the event on social media, stating, "Four hundred thousand hearts beat, moved and sang in unison at the magnificent concert of Shakira in the Historic Center of the capital. Long live the greatness of our city and its stages to enjoy different artistic expressions!"
Prior to the Zócalo show, Shakira performed in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mérida, and at Mexico City’s GNP Seguros Stadium. As she heads to Asia for the tour's final leg, she expressed deep gratitude to her Mexican fans. "This is a love and friendship story I have with Mexico that can’t be compared to anything," Shakira said. "Thank you for all the excitement, all the joy you’ve made me feel."
Shakira reminisced about her previous performance at the Zócalo nearly two decades ago. "¡México lindo! Remember 2007 when I sang for you at the Zócalo? Today, I want to tell you that this experience will happen again," she posted when announcing the free concert. "You have given me so, so much, and I hope I can give back a little bit of that love you’ve given me."
