Shania Twain graced the stage of The Shacklewell Arms in London last night (June 6), delivering an extraordinarily intimate performance that whisked fans back to her roots.

The country-pop icon, a multi-award winner, chose the modest 200-capacity venue in Dalston for her most personal show in decades. Tickets were exclusively available via a ballot, ensuring a truly dedicated and lucky audience.

Addressing the captivated crowd, Twain shared how the small setting evoked memories of her formative years, performing in bars as a child. “They would say, ‘Welcome to the stage, little miss Twain’, and that was me! And I would sing my little country songs, and little did I know I would be all the way over here,” she recounted, beaming. “I’m so happy to be here and be reliving some of my youth.”

Beyond her enduring classics like ‘Still The One’ and ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’, the setlist featured unexpected covers, including Kenny Rogers’ ‘The Gambler’ and Rednex’s ‘Cotton Eye Joe’.

The evening kicked off with ‘Dirty Rosie’, a new single from her forthcoming seventh studio album, ‘Little Miss Twain’. Twain revealed the album is “all based on my life before I got my record contract.” She elaborated, “And I only got signed in Nashville, Tennessee, when I was in my late twenties, so this was a long buildup. I promise you, I was playing these very same kind of bars all those years from the age of eight years old to my late twenties, and little Miss Twain was trying to become a recording artist. The rest of the story is on the album; you’ll have to listen to the album.”

This intimate affair serves as a prelude to a packed summer schedule for Twain. She is set to open for Harry Styles during his unprecedented 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium next week and into July. Additionally, she's slated for a massive headline concert at Limerick City’s Thomond Park Stadium in Ireland on July 7.

‘Little Miss Twain’ is scheduled for release on Friday, July 24, via Republic, following her critically acclaimed 2023 LP, ‘Queen Of Me’.

Reflecting on her career, Twain recalled being first dubbed “iconic” when her 2002 album, ‘Up!’, made her the first – and still only – female solo artist to achieve three consecutive diamond-certified albums in the US. “That was when [the icon thing] began, because that was an iconic thing,” she previously told NME. “I think as I was achieving things, I was too busy to celebrate them in the moment. You know, I guess I’m such a committed professional that it’s almost like I just put the blinders on and work.”

Her recent years have been equally monumental. In 2024, Twain fulfilled a long-held “wish list” dream by commanding the coveted Legends Slot at Glastonbury, a performance met with universal acclaim. That same summer, she also headlined BST Hyde Park in London, solidifying her status as a live music powerhouse.

Just last autumn, fans were treated to a memorable collaboration when Twain joined Sabrina Carpenter on stage at Austin City Limits for a show-stopping rendition of ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’.
