Taylor Swift, KISS, and Alanis Morissette Lead Songwriters Hall of Fame 2026 Class
The Songwriters Hall of Fame announces its 2026 inductees, featuring a diverse group of iconic songwriters including Taylor Swift, KISS, Alanis Morissette, and Kenny Loggins.

The Songwriters Hall Of Fame has unveiled its highly anticipated 2026 class, a stellar lineup of artists whose songwriting has shaped the landscape of modern music. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 11, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Headlining this year's class is none other than Taylor Swift. At 36, Swift becomes the youngest woman ever inducted into the Hall, a testament to her remarkable songwriting prowess and cultural impact. Only Stevie Wonder, inducted at 32 in 1983, was younger at the time of induction (excluding posthumous honorees). The press release highlights her contributions, citing masterpieces like "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)," "Blank Space," "Anti-Hero," "Love Story," and "The Last Great American Dynasty."
Joining Swift are rock legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Walter Afanasieff, and the songwriting duo of Terry Britten and Graham Lyle. This diverse group represents a wide range of genres and eras, showcasing the breadth and depth of songwriting talent being honored.
Nile Rodgers, chairman of the SHOF, expressed his enthusiasm for this year's inductees, stating:
> The music industry is built upon the incredible talent of songwriters who create unforgettable songs. Without their artistry, there would be no recorded music, concert experiences, or engaged fans. Everything originates from the song and its creator. We take great pride in our ongoing commitment to recognizing some of the most culturally significant composers in history. This year’s lineup not only showcases iconic songs but also celebrates unity across various genres. These songwriters have profoundly impacted the lives of billions of listeners worldwide, and it is our privilege to honor their contributions.
KISS, fronted by Stanley and Simmons, redefined rock and roll with their electrifying stage presence and unforgettable anthems. The SHOF rightly acknowledges their contributions with hits like "Rock And Roll All Nite," "I Love It Loud," "Calling Dr. Love," "Shout It Out Loud," and "Christine 16."
Morissette's groundbreaking 1995 album, Jagged Little Pill, remains a touchstone of the alternative rock era. Her raw, honest lyrics and powerful vocals resonated with millions. The Hall recognizes her for iconic tracks such as "You Oughta Know," "Ironic," "Hand In My Pocket," "Thank U," and "Uninvited."
Loggins' career spans decades, from his early work with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Loggins And Messina to his chart-topping solo career and contributions to classic movie soundtracks like Footloose and Top Gun. He is celebrated for penning timeless songs like "Danny’s Song," "Footloose," "Celebrate Me Home," "Return To Pooh Corner," and "What A Fool Believes."
Afanasieff's long-standing partnership with Mariah Carey produced some of the most beloved pop and R&B hits of the '90s and beyond. His songwriting brilliance shines on tracks like "All I Want For Christmas Is You," "My All," "Hero," "Love Will Survive," and "One Sweet Day."
Stewart, a prominent figure in the pop and R&B world, has collaborated with a who's who of music royalty, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Justin Bieber. The SHOF acknowledges his influence on hits like "Umbrella," "Single Ladies," "Obsessed," "Just Fine," and "Break My Soul."
Finally, Britten and Lyle are recognized for their collaborative songwriting efforts in the 1980s, creating hits such as "What’s Love Got To Do With It," "We Don’t Need Another Hero," "Typical Male," "Devil Woman," and "I Should Have Known Better."
