Taylor Swift to be Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame as Youngest Woman Ever

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2026, and it's a lineup packed with legendary talent. Among the inductees is Taylor Swift, who will become the youngest woman ever to receive this prestigious honor.

Joining Swift in the class of 2026 are fellow luminaries such as Alanis Morissette, Kiss songwriters Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, and yacht rock icon Kenny Loggins. Also being inducted are Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, known for penning Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It),” Walter Afanasieff, a frequent collaborator with Mariah Carey, and the songwriting duo of Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, famed for their work with Tina Turner.

Nominees who didn't make the cut this year include David Byrne, LL Cool J, Pink, Sarah McLachlan, and The Go-Go’s. To be eligible, artists must have a minimum of 20 years since their first commercial release, making Swift eligible this year due to her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” released in 2006.

For consideration, prospective inductees submit five songs. Swift's submissions included “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Love Story,” and “The Last Great American Dynasty.”

The induction gala is scheduled for June 11 in New York City, promising a night of celebration for songwriting excellence.

Last month, Donna Summer was posthumously inducted. Previous inductees include George Clinton and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, inducted alongside the Doobie Brothers the prior year.
