Pop music titan Taylor Swift has officially unveiled "I Knew It, I Knew You," a brand new track set to feature in the highly anticipated Toy Story 5. The song, co-written and co-produced with her frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, marks Swift's latest foray into film soundtracks.
The release follows a characteristically elaborate rollout, beginning with a leaked 48-hour countdown on Swift's official website. Fans quickly noted the backdrop's uncanny resemblance to Andy's iconic cloudy wallpaper from the Toy Story films. Though swiftly removed, the teaser fueled fervent speculation.
A second countdown later appeared on Swift's homepage, this time featuring Jessie the cowgirl moseying across a farm scene. This clock ultimately led to pre-order links for three distinct collector's editions of "I Knew It, I Knew You" on CD, a treat for dedicated Swifties.
Expressing her deep personal connection to the project, Swift shared her excitement: "I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie," she stated after the announcement. "I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening."
This isn't Swift's first venture into cinematic soundscapes. Her previous contributions include tracks for films like 50 Shades Darker, Valentine’s Day, and Hannah Montana: The Movie, showcasing her versatility across genres and audiences.
Beyond her soundtrack work, Swift continues to collect accolades. In January, she made history as the youngest person ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She will join the prestigious Class of 2026 alongside luminaries such as Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, and Kiss songwriters Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
