The Eagles' Final Flight? Don Henley Hints at 2026 Farewell
Don Henley, the last original member of the Eagles, suggests the band's touring days may conclude in 2026, citing family and personal interests.

According to Don Henley, the Eagles' last remaining founding member, 2026 could mark the end of the band's illustrious run. In a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Henley stated, "I think this will probably be it... I feel like we're getting toward the end, and that will be fine, too."
Henley expressed a desire for a change of pace. "[I want to] spend more time with my family, and I would like to spend more time growing vegetables," he shared. He continued, "I've traveled all over the world but I haven't seen much of it because we see the airports and the hotel room and the venue and we don't get out much."
The current lineup – including Joe Walsh and Vince Gill on guitar, Timothy B. Schmit on bass, and Deacon Frey (son of the late Glenn Frey) – are currently extending their residency at Vegas' Sphere, boasting a total of 56 shows since 2024. The Sphere shows have been a massive success for the band.
The rock group's 1976 compilation Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) achieved a historic milestone last month, becoming the first album to be certified quadruple diamond. It remains America's best-selling LP of all time.
The Eagles famously disbanded in 1980 after years of internal conflict, but they reunited in 1994 for an MTV special. This reunion was later released as the successful live album, Hell Freezes Over, and a subsequent tour.
Recently, the Eagles performed their first show without Joe Walsh in over 50 years. He was sidelined by the flu, with his parts being covered by Frey and Gill at the Sphere on January 24th.
